- Full-time, Days, 3 shifts per week, 12-hour shifts
Key Responsibilities
- Provide inpatient care to adult and geriatric patients with various medical and surgical conditions, including COVID-19, post-surgical, telemetry, diabetes, renal disease, COPD, pneumonia, and cellulitis.
- Monitor telemetry for patients with stable dysrhythmias and interpret cardiac rhythms.
- Administer medications, including IV insulin, blood products, and heparin.
- Manage wound care, wound vacs, drains, and oxygen therapy, ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Utilize Med/Surg telemetry systems, Pyxis medication system, and SBAR communication protocol.
- Respond to rapid response team activations and collaborate with multidisciplinary team members.
Required Qualifications
- Valid state nursing license in Illinois.
- Minimum of 2 years of medical-surgical nursing experience.
- BLS certification.
- Experience with telemetry monitoring and dysrhythmia interpretation.
- Ability to document and communicate effectively using SBAR.
- Knowledge of IV and medication administration protocols.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Previous charge nurse or leadership experience.
- Experience in a hospital setting managing adult and geriatric patients with complex conditions.
- Familiarity with post-surgical and telemetry patient care.
