Job Title
- Registered Nurse - Medical Surgical/Tele

- Chesapeake, VA
Schedule / Job Type
- Full-time, 12-hour night shifts, typically 4 shifts per week
Key Responsibilities
- Provide patient care within the Medical Surgical/Telemetry units, including renal and diabetic care
- Ensure adherence to patient ratios, maintaining a 1:7 staffing ratio
- Administer medications, IV starts, and monitor telemetry interpretation
- Document patient progress accurately in the electronic medical record system (EPIC proficiency required)
- Collaborate with healthcare team members to deliver comprehensive patient care
- Comply with all travel and licensing requirements, including current VA or compact license and background checks
Required Qualifications
- Valid VA or compact RN license in hand
- At least 2 years of recent tele and med-surg experience
- Must be EPIC proficient (no exceptions)
- Current BLS and ACLS certifications via American Heart Association
- Experience with IV starts and telemetry interpretation
- Current NURSYS report and Qualivis Cover Sheet included with application
- No prior licenses or background hits
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Past travel nursing experience
- Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, diverse environment
- Knowledge of P/F testing procedures and modules
