Registered Nurse - IMC/PCU/Stepdown

Schedule / Job Type:
Full-time, nights shift, 12-hour shifts, 3 shifts per week

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide patient care on the IMC/PCU/Stepdown unit, including assessing patient needs and implementing appropriate treatments.
• Float to various units as needed, adhering to unit protocols and patient care standards.
• Administer medications such as insulin and cardiac drips, start IVs, and monitor post-cardiac cath patients.
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary team to ensure quality care and documentation using Epic electronic medical record system.
• Cover every other weekend and work rotating holidays, including Thanksgiving, Christmas, and New Year’s.
• Maintain focused patient monitoring for cardiac, hemodynamic, and respiratory stability.

Required Qualifications:

• Active NY State Registered Nurse license or proof of application with applied date.
• Minimum of 1 year relevant telemetry and acute inpatient care experience.
• Current BLS and ACLS certifications.
• NIHSS certification required prior to start.
• Experience with Epic EMR (within the past 2 years).
• Ability to manage insulin and cardiac drips, start IVs, and perform post-cardiac cath care.

Preferred Experience / Skills:

• Prior travel nursing experience preferred.
• Familiarity with telemetry monitoring and complex cardiac patients.
• Ability to work independently within a float team setting.

• Orientation sessions are bi-weekly, with the next scheduled start date of 12/15.

• No block scheduling; shifts will be posted weekly.
• This assignment is an initial 16-32 week position with the possibility for extension or permanent placement.
