- Full-time, night shifts (3x12 hours per week)
Key Responsibilities
- Provide skilled nursing care to neonatal, adolescent, and adult patients in a Labor and Delivery unit.
- Float to Post Partum and Nursery as needed, assisting with patient care across multiple specialties.
- Monitor and manage labor, delivery, and postpartum processes, including patient education and discharge instructions.
- Assist with procedures such as SVE, heel sticks, magnesium administration, Pitocin, and newborn care.
- Ensure patient safety and comfort, communicate effectively using SBAR, and document care accurately in Electronic Medical Records.
- Collaborate with healthcare team to ensure quality patient outcomes during night shifts.
Required Qualifications
- Active RN license in California.
- ACLS, BLS, AWHONN Advanced, and NRP certifications.
- Minimum of 3 years of nursing experience; first-time travelers accepted if requirements are met.
- Experience in Labor and Delivery, antepartum, postpartum, and newborn care including procedures like magnesium, Pitocin, and circumcision care.
- Ability to circulate and triage patients efficiently.
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Extensive travel experience with 2-2.5 years of nursing background.
- Familiarity with hospital systems including Omnicell, Epic, and SBAR documentation.
- Experience with blood transfusions, heel sticks, hyperbilirubinemia management, TCB, TSB, and car seat education.
