Phlebotomy Technician

Schedule / Job Type
Full-time, Day shift, 8-hour shifts (10:30 AM – 7:00 PM), 5 days per week
Key Responsibilities
- Collect blood specimens from patients following established protocols and safety procedures
- Ensure proper labeling, handling, and documentation of specimens for laboratory analysis
- Provide compassionate patient care and communicate effectively with patients and healthcare team members
- Maintain compliance with hospital policies, including floating to different units as needed
- Adhere to travel and credentialing requirements, including completing pre-assignment modules and EMR documentation
- Follow Prisma Health’s floating policies, demonstrating competencies in all assigned units
Required Qualifications
- Minimum of 1 year of recent experience with EPIC EMR system
- Valid phlebotomy certification (NPS, ASCP, AMT, ASPT, NHA, ACA, NCCT, NPCE, NPA, NAPT, NHCO)
- Minimum of 1 year of recent trauma Level 1 experience
- Recent travel experience (no first-time travelers)
- Current BLS certification
- Ability to work scheduled shifts from 10:30 AM to 7:00 PM
Preferred Experience / Skills
- Experience in adult ICU, medical telemetry, or cardiac telemetry units
- Knowledge of Prisma Health floating policies and unit-specific competencies
- Experience working with adult multi-specialty patient populations
- Familiarity with EMPIC EMR system and hospital protocols
